Apparently, standalone spin-offs are all the rage as Fish Tank Studios, in tandem with publisher Black Eye Games, officially announces Gloria Victis: Siege, a medieval siege game featuring survival and resource management mechanics set in the Gloria Victis world. Players will take on the role of civilians trying to stay alive and helping the defenders of a besieged castle until help comes.
“The raiders have devastated the land – plundering supplies, burning villages, and leaving a trail of peasant blood in their wake. Surviving civilians have hidden behind city walls in hopes of being saved by armed troops. When the invaders reached the gates, the ruling lord battled them in an open field to protect his people. Even though he and all his men perished, one messenger managed to cut through the enemy lines to find help.
The fate of this land is now in your hands. Can you support the castle’s last defenders long enough to wait for rescue?”
Gloria Victis: Siege offers a unique take on medieval castle sieges as seen through the eyes of ordinary civilians stuck behind the walls. Players must find a way to survive the siege by managing their supplies, preserving food, building essential infrastructure to help the defending soldiers, and keeping the citizens’ morale high. The game will also come with an in-depth level and scenario editor that will allow players to create their own stories and events.
Fish Tank has yet to announce a release date for the game but you can now add it to your Wishlist on Steam. Check out the official reveal trailer below.
